ITINERARY AT A GLANCE:

Your journey begins in the captivating city of Lima, in one of the city’s most fashionable areas. Miraflores Park, A Belmond Hotel takes you straight to the heart of all that's best about this great capital city. This luxury hotel combines personalized service, exceptional dining and indulgent facilities to create the perfect base from which to explore. Colonial architecture, superb museums with Inca gold and Pre-Columbian antiquities, and glamorous shops, bars and restaurants are all just minutes from the hotel. Our first day will include lunch, followed by guided exploration of the famed Larco Museum, and the bustling boulevards and ornate architecture of Lima with Belmond’s expert guides.

The following day we fly to Cusco where we will spend two nights exploring this ancient city cradled in the embrace of Peru’s vast Andes Mountains. Moments from Plaza de Armas, Monasterio, A Belmond Hotel is an ancient monastery that has been at the heart of the city for centuries. Dine by candlelight among the cloisters; explore interiors rich with art and antiques; and uncover the secrets of Peru’s national drink with a pisco lesson. Cusco is a treasure trove of delights and we will spend our days taking in a local culinary experience, exploring the colonial streets and embark on a full day excursion to the Sacred Valley where we will visit a local non-profit organization and participate in a volunteer activity with local children. While in the Sacred Valley, we have the opportunity to visit Rio Sagrado, A Belmond Hotel, including lunch, followed by an afternoon of visiting important sites like the salt pans of Maras before returning to Cusco and the Monasterio for the evening.

The adventure continues with a journey aboard Hiram Bingham, A Belmond Train, the most  luxurious  way  to journey  between  Cusco and  Machu Picchu. Its sumptuous 1920s-style carriages ensure a magical journey never to be forgotten. With two Dining Cars, a Bar Car, open-deck Observation Car and Kitchen Car, the  train  can  carry  up  to  84  passengers.  On the journey to Machu Picchu, a gourmet brunch is served as you gaze through your window at the stunning Urubamba Valley.

After a full day of visiting the famed Inca citadel and its surrounding complexes, we retreat for the evening to Sanctuary Lodge, A Belmond Hotel. The only hotel located at the entrance to Machu Picchu, this stylish lodge is an oasis of calm before or after a day exploring Machu Picchu. Unwind with a yoga session, take part in a traditional shaman ceremony in the garden, or sip muña tea in Tampu Bar. Tranquility, wonder and beauty are at the heart of this unique experience.

Following an optional strenuous sunrise hike to Machu Picchu and lunch, we embark on the evening return to Cusco aboard the Hiram Bingham train journey, complete with an elegant dinner onboard and lively musical entertainment. On arrival to Cusco, we welcome another restful night at Monasterio.

Mid morning, on day six of our itinerary, we depart Cusco on the Andean Explorer, A Belmond Train to Puno. South America's first luxury sleeper train glides from Cusco, the capital of the Inca Empire, across the lofty Andean plains to the white city of Arequipa. Take in the region’s spectacular highlights en route, including Lake Titicaca and Colca Canyon. Our journey includes two nights onboard, complete with two and a half days of touring and activities and all meals.

After our final breakfast onboard the Andean Explorer, we take time to enjoy the magnificent lake, learning of the regions fauna and local wildlife, including a visit to the Sumbay Caves, before transferring to Arequipa airport for our return flight to Lima.

A final evening together will include dinner at Restaurant Tragaluz at Miraflores Park before we bid farewell. Morning transfers to the airport on June 12th will be provided according to your departing flight time.
